Losing teeth — whether through decay, gum disease or injury — can affect far more than your appearance. It can make eating and speaking more difficult, change the shape of your face and knock your confidence. Dentures are a tried, tested and affordable way to replace missing teeth, giving you back a natural-looking smile and the freedom to eat and talk with ease.
At our practice, every set of dentures is custom-made to fit your mouth precisely, using high-quality materials chosen to suit your needs, budget and lifestyle.
Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. They can be either complete (replacing all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw) or partial (filling the gaps where only some teeth are missing, while your remaining natural teeth stay in place).
Modern dentures are a world away from those of the past. With advances in materials and design, today’s dentures are lighter, more comfortable, more secure and far more lifelike than ever before.
We offer a range of denture options so we can recommend the most suitable solution for you:
Acrylic dentures — A traditional and cost-effective choice. Made from a durable acrylic base coloured to match your gums, with realistic-looking teeth set into it. Suitable for both full and partial sets, and easy to adjust or add to in future.
Cobalt chrome metal dentures — Built around a strong, slimline metal framework. Because the metal is thinner than acrylic, these dentures are more comfortable, less bulky and allow you to taste food more naturally. They are particularly well suited to partial dentures, clipping securely onto your existing teeth.
Flexible nitrile dentures — A metal-free, flexible alternative that’s prized for its comfort and discreet appearance. The gum-coloured clasps blend in naturally, with no visible metalwork, making them an excellent aesthetic option for partial dentures.
Acetal dentures — A strong, lightweight and biocompatible metal-free option, ideal for patients with metal sensitivities or those who prefer a flexible yet sturdy denture with a natural look.
Getting dentures usually takes place over a few appointments to ensure the perfect fit:
Looking after your dentures keeps them comfortable, hygienic and long-lasting:
It’s normal for dentures to feel slightly unusual at first. Most people adjust within a few weeks, and we’re always here to help if anything feels uncomfortable.
| Treatment | Plan Member | Pay as You Go |
|---|---|---|
| Acrylic denture | From £675.00 | From £750.00 |
| Cobalt chrome metal denture | From £1,125.00 | From £1,250.00 |
| Flexible nitrile denture | From £630.00 | From £700.00 |
| Acetal denture | From £855.00 | From £950.00 |
Final costs depend on your individual needs and the number of teeth being replaced. We’ll always provide a clear, written treatment plan before any work begins.
If you’d like to know whether a crown is the right choice for you, we’d be happy to chat through your options. Give us a call or book online at Knightsfield Dental Practice, and let’s get your smile back.
I recently had some dental issues with broken teeth and saw Maya for a check-up. Maya gave me options to get my teeth repaired, and I now have 2 lovely new white fillings. I had also misplaced my denture, and Maya made me a new one, which fits so well and is so comfortable. The treatment from start to finish was explained in detail, and I’m really happy with the final results. I highly recommend this dental practice and am pleased to have found such a friendly, helpful team.
Today I had the ‘pleasure’ of a shiny new filling by Nishma, who has become a bit of a household name around here! The kids love her, and now, I have to pretend to be “Dentist Daddy” when brushing their teeth (inspired by Nishma)!
Zero pain.
100% friendliness.
On time.
In and out in 30 minutes.
As always, a lovely experience. Well, aside from the bill, I guess, but thanks to the UK Govt, we have to pay for dental treatment these days, and Nishma’s expertise comes at a fair and appropriate cost. Thanks, Nishma (and your lovely colleague) for a smooth experience (and smooth filling too)!
So grateful for the care and attention given at this practice every time I attend. Most recently to Maya, Ishira and Sarah for their patience, care in getting me seen and treated as quickly as possible. The phone call to check on me the next day is such a lovely touch; I have never had that at any other dental practice before. Highly recommend this practice!
Very professional team. Always on time. Very clean premises. Friendly staff. They seem up-to-date with new techniques and equipment. They take pride in their work. I have had several dentists at this practice over the years, but they are all very good at their job. Can recommend.
Recently changed my dentist to a local one and I have found all the staff here very friendly, caring and most importantly, understanding in terms of my ongoing oral health care. Treatment has been exceptional, easy and importantly pain pain-free and appropriate. Thank you, Anita, Maya and the team.
Excellent friendly practice, treatment was very good and painless, everything was explained, and great care was taken to ensure my comfort. Good ambience in the waiting room, the appointment was on time. Recommended.
Totally recommend this Dental Surgery! Maya and her team were very professional and kind. I cannot express how grateful I am to have new crowns and a bridge so that I can smile with confidence. They talked me through every stage, and the final result was brilliant.
Always delighted with the results of any treatment I receive. Face may crumble with age, but my smile shows the benefit of long years of care from Knightsfield Dental Practice.
Since Anita has been taking care of my teeth, I have been highly satisfied with Knightsfield Dental Practice. She is always bright, positive, caring and very clear about treatment options, which she executes professionally and well. Love my visits now.
I had an old filing replaced. The procedure was delivered very well, and in a nice, calm atmosphere. The anaesthetic took quite a long time to ease off – more like 4 hours before I could feel my bottom lip and cheek, but I’d rather that than feel the procedure (which I didn’t).
Highly recommend the service at the dentist. Thoroughly professional in the explanation and treatment of my teeth. A great experience, thank you!
I had an old filling that had to be replaced, and I had the treatment today. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing treatment; I didn’t feel a thing, and the dentist and her dental nurse were brilliant.
My treatment was concisely explained from start to finish, including aftercare. I was reminded of each appointment both by phone and email. The professionalism and diligence of Maya, Sarah and all staff were faultless.
I had to go to this practice as an emergency, being a very nervous patient, I can not tell you how nice they were. The dentist informed me of what treatment should be done, and the dental nurse was lovely and held my hand throughout the tooth extraction; they even gave me a coping strategy to use. Cannot recommend them enough, all staff were lovely and friendly.

With good care, dentures typically last between 5 and 10 years. Over time, the natural changes in your gums and jawbone can affect the fit, so your dentures may need adjusting, relining or replacing to keep them comfortable.
Yes. Your dentures are custom-made and we carefully match the shape, size and shade of the teeth — and the colour of the gum — to give a natural, lifelike result that suits your face.
There’s usually a short adjustment period of a few days to a few weeks while your mouth gets used to them. Some people notice a little soreness or extra saliva at first, but this settles. If any discomfort continues, we can adjust the fit.
You’ll be able to eat a wide variety of foods, though we recommend starting with soft foods cut into small pieces and chewing slowly on both sides. With a little practice, most foods become much easier to manage.
Some people find certain words tricky at first. Reading aloud and practising speaking usually helps you adapt quickly, and your speech should return to normal within a short time.
We generally recommend removing them overnight to give your gums a chance to rest and to keep the dentures clean by soaking them. We’ll give you personalised advice based on your situation.
A full (complete) denture replaces all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, while a partial denture fills the gaps left by one or more missing teeth and clips around your remaining natural teeth.
That depends on how many teeth you’re replacing, your budget, comfort preferences and whether you have any metal sensitivities. We’ll talk you through the options at your consultation and recommend the most suitable choice.
Brush them daily with a soft brush and a denture cleaner, soak them overnight in a cleaning solution, and avoid hot water or abrasive toothpaste. Keep cleaning your gums and any remaining teeth too.
Yes. Dentures can often be repaired, relined or adjusted rather than fully replaced. If yours feel loose, cracked or uncomfortable, get in touch and we’ll take a look.
